Each year the unique Croatian island of Obonjan, close to Sibenik, is host to a festival curated by various different collectives, each intent on offering a chilled experience that is fun but not chaotic and relaxing but not dull. At night, warbling music echoes through the tiered amphitheatre, close to the wash of the ocean.
Just over a week ago, Calum and I were invited along to the Henley Mile - a light-hearted family affair run by Henley Swim every year. Equipped with the usual swim/filming kit (except my bloody goggles), we'd be heading downriver through the Henley Royal Regatta boomed course and swimming a mile in the non-competitive sporting category, followed by James Silson (our trusty teammate).
Last weekend Calum and I (Jack) competed in/filmed the 5km Eton Swim, alongside 600 other keen outdoor swimmers. To our surprise the waters of Dorney Lake were a surreal 21.5c - something we're not particularly used to in the UK.
There's a chance this, being an experimental crowdfunding project, could be a belly-flop - it does sound a little too good to be true. Then again, the chance to have your own personal, hand-held scuba kit, without the typical months of qualifications, is at stake. So maybe we can cautiously optimistic about this one...
We're very excited to announce the launch of our new Youtube series which we're calling "Go Swim..." This new series is pretty simple - basically we'll go and swim at a new spot every couple of weeks. Then we'll try to produce fun videos that familiarise you with the different swimming areas. Hopefully we'll get a few of you in the water! At first we'll be doing a tour of London's lido's and we'll also seek out plenty of secret swim spots across the country.
